This song is beautiful and inspiring. Angie Smith from Bring the Rain posted this video and it touched my heart very much. What an inspiring song and group of people. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Project Life Tuesday
It is Tuesday again! Time to post my pictures for the week! Head on over to The Mom Creative to see Jessica's pictures as well as several other people who are participating in the project.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010
We finally took down all of the Christmas decorations and Santas and put out the few Easter decorations that we have. I love our "chocolate" bunny collection!

Wednesday, February 17, 2010
Happy Birthday Ryleigh Jean! I can hardly believe that you are FOUR YEARS OLD TODAY! You have grown into a beautiful little girl with an infectious giggle and a smile that never stops. Today, we have two pictures - the first is our beautiful girl hanging out at home and the second is the family (plus Grandma Peg) chowing down on some cake at Pizza Ranch. You won the cake from Coborn's today for your birthday.

Tricia's class put on plays for parents today. This is Tricia's group performing their version of Sherlock Holmes.

Friday, February 19, 2010
Miss Holly made a trip to the vet today.
Dew claws removed ... $7.50
Spaying ... $15.45
Lots of other charges ... totaling $265.06
One satellite dog ... PRICELESS!

February 20, 2010
Today was Ryleigh's very first friend birthday party. I won't post those pictures since I don't know most of the parents. We also went to Grandpa and Grandma's house for supper, cake and presents. Dave was not feeling well - getting a cold again - so he went home and ended up cuddling with Reno.

February 21, 2010
We went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house for lunch today. Grandpa ended up hanging out with all three girls in the chair watching a movie. What great memories, too bad the picture is not great.

February 22, 2010
This is where I currently spend all my time. I love my computer monitor at the office, especially since I have my favorite picture of Vegas as my wallpaper. Notice the flower pencil that Tricia made for Christmas gifts for her teachers and the ever-present bottle of Pepsi!

Thanks for looking!

Project Life
It is Tuesday again! That means it is time to share my Project Life pictures again. Head on over to Jessica's blog to take a look at some others.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010
This is just our ONE lonely truck in the driveway. Dave's little Barbie car blew up and died so he has my car in the cities for the week. Our driveway looks so empty with just one car instead of three cars and a camper!

Thursday, February 11, 2010
Today's picture is a picture of a group of 8 students from Mrs. Delaney's 6th grade language arts class. I was in the classroom today teaching a mini lesson about oral communication and listening skills. The kids had a blast drawing their pictures! The picture has been omitted from the blog since they aren't my kids :)
Friday, February 12, 2010
The Olympics started today! Here is a picture of the US athletes entering the stadium. I kinda like watching the Winter Olympics, but I'll miss all my regular TV too!

Saturday, February 13, 2010
Dave sent me flowers for Valentine's Day again this year. Aww, what a guy! Unfortunately, there was no one at the office when they were delivered, so they sat outside for a bit too long. They didn't last as long as one would hope, but they are still beautiful!

Sunday, February 14, 2010
Happy Valentine's Day! The girls posed for their annual picture with their Cupid gifts, well some of them anyway. Ryleigh's caterpillar was a big hit! Tricia also got a beautiful necklace tree and matching earring holder.

Monday, February 15, 2010
Tricia did not have school today. Ryleigh was supposed to have preschool, but it got canceled due to weather. No dance due to weather too. I didn't really have anything planned for supper, but there was chicken thawed in the fridge. I threw together this yummy dinner of saucy parmesan chicken with buttery noodles and corn. Wow! A quick and healthy dinner.

Camera Bag Giveaway!
I really need a new camera bag! The strap on mine is broken - Holly somehow managed to get part of it inside her kennel and then the closure part broke off.
Anyway, McMama is giving one away today! It is beautiful and WAY TO EXPENSIVE to buy, even with the discount. So I get an extra entry if I post about it. Head on over to her giveaway blog to check out the details!

It's TUESDAY! That means it is time to update the Project Life pictures. Head on over to Jessica's blog to check out some other Project Life blogs.

LOST started again tonight! I must admit that I am glad I have it on the DVR. I was not able to pay close enough attention to catch everything ... are there two of each character now?

Wednesday, February 3, 2010
Ryleigh has started not sleeping well again. She insists on falling asleep on the couch. We move her to her bed, but soon after everyone else has called it a night, she moves back out to sleep on the couch. Oh well, hopefully her sleeping habits will improve eventually!

Thursday, February 4, 2010
Today will go down as one of the worst in recent history. This lovely email from "the big boss" forces me into a terrible decision ... do I quit my job and student teach so that I have my K-8 teacher certification ... do I quit the program with only one semester to go but have a guaranteed income??? The decision will not be an easy one and it will not come quickly.

Friday, February 5, 2010
Hmm, no picture for today? I wonder what happened? Oh yeah, I was in a total funk today. I was home from work and not productive at all. This too shall pass ...
Saturday, February 6, 2010
Today, Holly had her shots. Dave and Tricia loaded her up in the big white truck and took her to the vet. She weighs 47 pounds. The vet thinks she is probably around 6 months old. She also agrees with us that she must have some golden retriever in her ... no pure bred lab has such a great personality!

Sunday, February 7, 2010
Tricia BEGGED to take Holly for a walk to the fairgrounds again today. It was not plowed out as well as last time, so we didn't stay as long. As you can see, Holly and Tricia were in their glory climbing to the top of the "mountain" and sliding down. I took some better pictures, but I think this one shows decent action and shows just how much fun Tricia was having!

Dance day! Ryleigh's group is 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds. There are so many girls in this group, I have no idea how Cindy keeps them somewhat under control. In this picture the girls are practicing walking across the floor on their toes. Miss Ryleigh is way up in front (you can barely see her with a yellow skirt and pink tights), basically running. But she is on her toes!

Tuesday, February 9, 2010
Today, the girls were so excited because grandma came to watch them for a couple hours so that I could run back to the office and do some studying. They got to have Pizza Ranch (garlic cheese pizza, chicken fries, and cactus bread) and then lots of play time while they watched The Biggest Loser.

See you next week!

Bad News
It seems the bad news just keeps rolling in for the Nissen family. First Dave's car breaks down completely. Still owe money on it, of course. So now we get to continue to make payments on a car that will not run.
Perhaps even worse, I have been told my request for a leave of absence from work has been denied. I need this leave so that I can complete my student teaching. I must now make a choice: my job or my degree. I've worked so hard for this degree. My family has given up so much because of this degree. Now it may all have been for nothing.
I want to curl up into the fetal position and cry. I want to scream at people. I want to hit people. None of that will help. So I'll do as I always do ... pick myself up and make a plan.
But not before I eat a lot of pringles and a lot of chocolate!

Project Life Tuesday
It is Tuesday again ... time for Project Life Tuesday with Jessica! Follow this link to take a look at others who are participating.

January 26, 2010
This one is a picture of Ryleigh having her tubby time in my big tub. Just like her big sister, she has decided my tub is way better than daddy's little one!
January 27, 2010
Tonight was the State of the Union address. Always the professional speaker, President Obama gave an awesome speech. Let's hope that this year we will be able to get some stuff done.

January 28, 2010
Ryleigh is such a little coloring freak! She loves to color. This is one of her latest creations, which she decided to tape on our bedroom door.

January 29, 2010
Mom, Tricia, Ryleigh and I headed up to Uncle Troy and Aunt Patty's house for a weekend of fun. This picture is the girls right before bed. They were all pretty worn out by this time.

January 30, 2010
This is the beginning of our LONG, FUN day! Today was Gabby Sammons' adoption celebration. We went to the Grand Rios water park for a few hours to swim and play. We made it a short trip because the girls were starting to melt down. So we headed back to Olivia to eat at Pizza Ranch and then went to the bowling alley for a couple games. We finally ended our day back at Troy and Patty's watching Milo and Otis. What a fun day!

January 31, 2010
I am cheating a little with this picture. Sunday we spent the day pretty much chilling and then heading home after a fun weekend. So this picture is actually from last night (1-30) at the bowling alley. Look how much fun they are having!

February 1, 2010
DANCE, DANCE, DANCE! The girls both danced at the boy's basketball game versus Luverne tonight. It was the first EVER performance for Ryleigh and the first performance of the year for Tricia. They both rocked it, of course. And to top it off, the boys won their game! Another fun, busy day at the Nissen household.

So ends another awesome week!
